Internship Experience
As a Language & International Trade major, I am required to complete an internship with a global company. I chose to work 140+ hours at an organization called CIIECCA, which stands for La Cámara de Industrias Informáticas, Electrónicas, y de Comunicaciones del Centro de Argentina. This company is located in Córdoba capital and I worked there from February-May of 2017. CIIECCA is the business chamber that represents the technological sector in the center of the country. The organization’s goal is to stimulate the development, productivity, and competitiveness of its partners, while applying management, logistics, information, and communication strategies.
My role at CIIECCA was to perform market research in which to aid our partners in finding new customers for their products. This involved creating a database where we listed every product sold by our partners and the specific trade number for each product. Then we contacted every foreign embassy in central Argentina to confirm the contact information of their commercial representative. We hope to expand our partner’s products into international markets so to reach more customers than ever before.
I also I helped organize an international business roundtable meeting between Chilean and Argentinian manufacturers, which ended up being one of the most memorable experiences of my internship. We organized an event where agricultural exporters from Chile could meet with packagers and manufacturers from Argentina in a formal setting. This helped form new business relationships between both countries and I gained a lot of new connections.
